Sure, a funny, foul-smelling cab driver that stopped a couple of minutes after the bus blasted by me, probably due to my dumbfounded “what the fuck do I do now” look on my face, made it his mission to get me to Budva in time to get on that bus, and for just 33 euros…
Sure, I made it to Budva’s bus station just in time to get on the bus, only to have some asshole security guard with a shitty attitude keep me from boarding the bus, apparently because I didn’t use the ‘proper entrance’ to the station (I *ahem* forcibly entered my way in through the exit gate, because I saw the bus was getting ready to disembark), he forcibly dragged me away from the now-departing bus, into the bus terminal building, all the while threatening to beat the crap out of me (I think that’s what he was saying, he was muttering in unintelligible Slavic and spitting a lot), while he ignored me and screamed for the cops…
Sure… the smelly cab driver from Bar saw the whole brouhaha and brought his cab around to the front and got me in and drove off before the cops showed up, which would make the whole situation an official ‘incident’, then gave me another ‘good price’ to take me to Kotor so I can catch another bus from there, hopefully. But then on the way, he decided that I would be better off hopping the ferry a few more km’s down the road to get a bus to Herceg Novi, where it was assured that I would surely find a bus there that would get me to Dubrovnik…
Sure… I paid him another 20e more than agreed and considered it a bargain. Since his fast action back in Budva probably saved my ass from being arrested by some bored, annoyed, and broke cops…
Sure… I made it onto the ferry, only to meet a shuttle van driver during the crossing who offered to take me to Dubrovnik for ‘good price’. But I held out because I figured I’d get a bus at Herceg Novi’s station for less…
Sure… I missed the last bus from Herceg Novi to Dubrovnik for the day, by FIVE FUCKING MINUTES, but managed to find a driver who can take me to Dubrovnik for a little less than what the previous driver quoted me. Got me almost to the door of where I was staying. I even tipped him 5 euros.
Sure… despite all this SHIT, I still made it to where I’m staying in Dubrovnik a solid 20 minutes before the bus from Bar was scheduled to arrive at the station here.
